Hey You!

I’m Liv. A letter-writing, Jesus-loving, sunset-chasing, very average girl who stumbled upon a journey of chronic pain which Jesus is so gracefully redeeming.

Let’s hold hope together.

Mind if I share a bit of my story?

I didn’t set out to become an author.

Truthfully, I was just desperate for some hope for myself.

At the age I should’ve been busy with homework and midnight adventures, I was instead thrown into a crazy journey with my health so I decided to write an article processing what God was teaching me through this “behind-the-scenes” pain.

Then the article got published by a ministry. And God used it to encourage other believers. And it encouraged me. So I did it again… and again.

One weekend as I was praying, an idea flooded my heart. I started dreaming of having a pen-pal. A younger sister facing a similar health journey. Someone I could write letters to. The things I wish someone would’ve shared with me. We could hold hope together.

It didn’t take long for the Holy Spirit to prompt me...put the letters in a book.

So I did. And God miraculously opened the door for Hold Hope to be published in the fall! I believe the doors He has opened are an undeniable evidence that God is in this story, and I sincerely long for this book to leave you with a little hope, and a lot of Jesus.

Hold Hope: Encouragement to the Christian with Chronic Pain

“Think of me as a pen-pal of sorts sharing what I wish someone would’ve told me at different points in my journey.”

Letters of Encouragement

Letters of Encouragement

Together we’ll wrestle through the big questions:

● Does God care?

● Am I being punished?

● Will I be healed?

● How do I get through another pain-filled day?

● Am I crazy? Or is this actually so, so hard?

letters to believers with chronic pain

  • “I didn’t realize I was ill until after my first daughter was born. A few days later, my body erupted in a blistering rash—from my feet to my chest, neck, and hands. I was covered in hives and blisters, lying in agony on the couch, too blistered to move. The pain was overwhelming, and caring for my newborn became a daily battle. It took nearly a year before a kind doctor finally identified my condition: Pemphigoid Gestationis. No cure. And likely to worsen with every pregnancy. Reading Hold Hope brought me back to those days of uncertainty and pain. Olivia’s words are a balm to anyone struggling through the unseen battles of chronic illness. She reminds us that even in the darkest moments, there is hope to be found, and life can be lived—fully and bravely—right where we are.”
